Requirements
- The driver must be at least 21 years old
- A valid and full/unrestricted driving licence issued in Australia or New-Zealand, -or- a legally confirmed English translation of your driving licence, accompanied by a valid driving licence from your country
- Transfercar will not deduct any money off your credit or debit card for insurance purposes. All transactions will be made directly between the driver and the rental operator at time of pickup or via phone once the request is accepted. For all debit card transactions, the usual bond/excess is required at time of pickup and released on safe and timely return of the vehicle.

| Description | Koru 2 Freedom Campervan is a refined version of the recently developed Walkthrough model. It has been carefully designed to deliver New Zealand's best campervan rental experience by maximising your time off the grid. Standard features include an on-board touch screen tabloid system with reversing camera, a hard-wired stereo/TV system, a pull-out pantry, ambient LED night lighting and ample storage. The rear of the lounge suite also includes a large drawer, big enough to accommodate medium sized suitcases or a variety of soft travel bags. The kitchen comprises of one compact unit including the 60 litre 12V fridge with 2 stove gas cooker and sink combination. The left hand side of the kitchen can be extended for additional bench space. Whilst maintaining all the existing features, we have installed a powerful 280-watt MPPT controlled solar system and combined this with 2.88 kilowatt hours of house battery energy storage. We have also changed our traditional LPG gas heating system to a diesel fuelled system. This allows for more energy storage and reduces the need to refill LPG gas bottles. The diesel heating system is connected to the 80l vehicle diesel tank and uses an average of 300ml of diesel per hour of heating. The system is variable speed and will dial back once the selected temperature is achieved. The hot water is powered by a heat exchanger, connected to the vehicle cooling system. There is no need for gas or any other fuel to heat water. Once the engine reaches operating temperature, the in-house water will be hot for a period of up to 24 hours. The combination of solar, good energy storage and efficient heating means that there is very little need to refuel gas bottles or to charge batteries on paid campgrounds. If you are planning to freedom camp in remote New Zealand nature, then this is the vehicle for you. This vehicle is certified self-contained in accordance with the Plumbers, Gas and Drain Fitters (Self-Contained Vehicles) Regulations 2023 (the new rules - green warrant). |

Cancellation policy
Once your relocation request is accepted, a cancellation fee applies at all times and will be charged to your credit card when you cancel, or do not show up for your booking. For cancellations made more than 48hrs ahead of pickup, a cancellation fee of $25 will be applied. Late cancellations (within 48 hours of pick-up time) will be charged $50, and no-shows will be charged $100. Cancellations must be made by logging into "My Transfercar" and selecting "Cancel trip" under the booking. Please be aware that the rental operator might have a separate cancellation fee beyond Transfercar's policy.
